Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The SBL PTA is always looking to encourage more parents to join in with the various activities organised to raise funds for the school. It aims to improve the education of the pupils of SBL by:

Encouraging close interaction between parents, pupils and teaching staff
Raising funds to purchase additional equipment for the school

The committee holds meetings on a regular basis (usually every one or two months), which all parents and teaching staff are welcome to attend. These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to communicate with the school community to make suggestions, voice concerns or generally engage in the education of the children. Events are planned and allocation of the funds raised is discussed.

In the last year, the PTA has spent around £2500 on important extras for the school. The support the PTA gives the school helps ensure that the buildings are in good order and that the school has excellent and varied resources.

To enhance the SBL student learning environment in co-operation with staff, parents and students of SBL.

Aims

To raise funds that are used to improve the SBL student learning and environment.
To listen to school and student requests for financial support.
To support the purchase of items that enhance the learning and environment of SBL students, which cannot be purchased via the school budget.
To support school events.
To encourage parent participation in school life.
