The Sir Bernard Lovell School was last inspected on the 16th and 17th March 2011 and was awarded an overall grade 1 ‘outstanding’ judgement.

Almost all other areas were awarded ‘Good’ judgements.
Inspectors particularly emphasised the impact of the innovative curriculum and the school’s partnerships in engaging and motivating students of all abilities to achieve high standards. They also stressed that students feel well cared for and supported within the school, and that they receive very good guidance and preparation for life beyond school.
The Inspection follows the recent opening of the school’s state-of-the-art community sports centre, which inspectors felt will play a major part in enhancing students’ health and well-being.
