We ask parents to contact the school as soon as possible if a student is absent for any reason; our automated truancy call will contact you each morning if your child has not registered and we have not heard from you. A written note is requested for our formal records when the student returns to school; there are slips in the student organiser for this. If your child's attendance falls below 85% or your child has a number of broken weeks you will be informed of this by the school. You may also be asked to attend a school attendance meeting where we will discuss what support we maybe able to offer. The Education Welfare Officer might become involved in cases where there is an attendance issue. Please note that we do not authorise absence due to holidays taken in term time.
We do not authorise term time holidays. There is a close link between good attendance and high levels of achievement at school and we encourage parents to work closely with us to maximise attendance. We have a reward system for students with very high levels of attendance.
Please call Student Services on 01454 868 035 / 868 036 if you need to report an absence.
