Personal Development Curriculum (PDC)

At Key Stage 3 the multi-disciplinary personal development curriculum builds upon work done at Key Stage 2 to develop students' communication, learning and social and emotional skills and cultural and global awareness. The PDC incorporates personal, social and health education and citizenship education as well as teaching performance skills. In year 9 there is a strong emphasis on information advice and guidance for students to help them make important decisions regarding future courses of study.

The PDC at Key Stage 4 and 5 includes PSHE, citizenship, religious studies, functional skills and enterprise. Additionally, students undertake the Project qualification, helping them to pursue a topic in depth and to develop their research skills.
