Information communication technology (ICT)

ICT is taught discreetly to all students in Key Stage 3, and is embedded in the teaching of all subjects right across the school. Within the Key Stage 3 strategy, ICT is being successfully delivered along LEA and national guidelines and the provision will be reviewed and further developed alongside our partner primary schools.

At Key Stage 4 students can currently opt either for the IT Specialist Diploma or BTEC Certificate ICT, and many students continue in the sixth form, studying BTEC National level 3 or AS/A2 Computing.

As the vast majority of students are studying Specialist Diplomas, the ICT team are responsible for the provision of ICT functional skills both at level 1 and level 2 across the 14-19 age range.

The ICT team have been working to incorporate the use of Web 2.0 technologies within our teaching and learning.
